The placement of the handle allows the jug to be stored in the refrigerator with the spout on the top side, so you can rest assured that there is absolutely no possibility of leakage from the spout. When the jug is removed from the refrigerator in this same position, the handle allows it to be carried easily to the table or outdoors without the loss of a drop. When you arrive at the serving location, there is a tiny bit of leakage from the spout as you tip the jug into the serving position, but this amounts only to a couple of drops and stops immediately. In actual use, the spout is drip-free. Great product. Highly recommend!
