I was so excited to find a Sign Language kit because I'm in school to become an interpreter and thought it would be a fun way to play with my second language. It's pretty well made and seems durable, although I'm slightly disappointed in the words themselves. The pictures aren't the best for signs, but that's understandable since it's such a small format. The selection of words is also not huge, but there are alphabet tiles that you can use to spell your own words. It'd be nice to have an expansion pack or something with more words. The biggest problem I've noticed, though, is that some of the words on the back do not match up with the signs. For example, the sign for the letter A has "pardon me" written as the translation on the back. Not sure if it's just a printing issue or what, but it's a little annoying. It's not a huge deal for me because I know all of the signs, so I don't personally need the translations. Also, there's a disclaimer in the box that explains that the kit should not be used to teach the new language, but more for fun. So for its intended purpose, it's great.
Bottom line - I give it 4 stars because it's generally serving the purpose I wanted it for (just for fun), but it could use a few improvements. I wouldn't recommend it as a sole learning tool, but it's a fun way to play with a new language. I actually will probably buy another one to have in our classroom at school just for fun.
