(More customer reviews)If you are considering this knife block, you have to make sure of several things first.
1. You don't have more than 6 knives to put in it. There are only 6 slots.
2. None of your knives are too big to fit in the slots. The slot dimensions are 10.75" x 2" x 9/32". The 2 middle slots are slightly larger, at 2.25". So your blade can't be more than about 10.5" or 270mm long.
3. Make sure your handles are wider than the blade, so that it stops the blade from going all the way in. This shouldn't be a problem for most knives.
4. Most kitchen shears will not fit into this block.
The magnets are super strong. It also comes with magnets you can screw on, so you can put the block on the side of a cabinet or wall. And I love bamboo for just about anything. For a single male who doesn't do a whole lot of fancy cooking, and who doesn't own a bunch of knives, This is almost perfect for me. I wish they could've fitted in a slot for shears, but as I build my knife collection, I'll eventually end up buying a real knife block. For now this is sufficient.
