Prodyne Acrylic Juice Jar Review

Prodyne Acrylic Juice Jar
Average Reviews:

These carafes are like artwork in the refrigerator. The acrylic jar is sturdy and easy to handle even when full.
Washing has not been a problem as long as the contents aren't allowed to dry (meaning rinse it out as soon as it becomes empty).
The worst part about this product is the lid. The flip-top lid does not stay open unless it's pushed all the way back. Then, when pouring, the contents splashes because there's no vent hole in the lid. Lastly, the shape of the lip on the lid causes a small, but very noticeable amount of liquid to remain on the lid, which unfortunately turns into a gross and crusty mess very quickly. I would recommend keeping a towel or rag near-by to wipe off the lid after each use.
Update - 3 months after purchase
I purchased several of these carafes and in just 3 months one has been discarded because it cracked on the bottom and began to leak, while all the others have developed cracks in the neck. I would strongly recommend against purchasing this product for refrigerated liquids.
It seems to be more well suited as a serving container that will be used for an event and then emptied before being stored.

Bormioli Rocco 34-oz. Storage Pitcher Review

Bormioli Rocco 34-oz. Storage Pitcher
Average Reviews:

*****
I ordered 6 of these and so made the shipping problem described in another review not applicable. The vendor does charge a lot for shipping and handling, but if you order multiple items, it works out great, because most of the shipping is probably handling---in other words, if you ordered 6 pitchers, the shipping and handling is only $9.99! Also the pitchers are very sturdy and heavy, which I wanted.
These pitchers fit beautifully on the inside door of my refrigerator. They don't leach chemicals into my beverages, either. They take up very little space (they are squared not rounded so they fit well all lined up) and are attractive. If you are looking for a healthy option to plastic, this is it. They also have a nice snug lid to keep things fresh. The lid can be turned to an "open" position like many pitchers so that the lid doesn't have to be removed to pour.
The pitchers are attractive and not chinsy-looking like plastic pitchers. Buy more than one not only to save on shipping and handling, but because you'll want more for sure!

Bormioli Rocco Kufra Glass Jug with Ice Container and Lid Review

Bormioli Rocco Kufra Glass Jug with Ice Container and Lid

Hi,
If you are looking for a medium sized pitcher with good looks and functionality, this is the pitcher for you. Continue reading below for my pros and cons regarding the Bormioli Chiller.
Pros:
*The chiller looks very nice. It's compact and easily fits in the second shelf in my fridge
*Hard glass; definitely made of quality glass--not the cheap ones that seem like they'll break with a slight tap of your nails.
*Ice Container is a very nice feature. Fill the plastic tube with as many ice cubes as will fit; your drinks will be cold w/out being watery
*Drinks pour our easily w/out spilling unto your floors or whereever else, just be careful not to pour too fast or naturally it'll spill
Cons:
*As advertised, the components are plastic, i.e the white lid cover, stirrer (I recall one reveiwer mentioning they never received it, well it was supplied with the pitcher)and plastic ice tube.
*unlike the good quality glass, i felt the plastic was cheap and flimsy; guess you can't have everything in one product
*Handle is short and I wish it was longer
Overall I gave this pitcher a 4 b/c of the cons and also b/c it appeared larger in the picture or maybe it was me. In any case, this is a great picher for a single person or very small family. I definitely recommend buying this and keeping your drinks cold this summer! Enjoy.

Ideal for icy cold lemonade, refreshing sweet tea, and more, this 72-3/4-ounce pitcher offers a stylish way to serve up perfectly chilled beverages with graceful ease. The unit's thick glass construction ensures durability and long-lasting beauty, while its ergonomic, integrated handle and built-in pour spout make it simple to carry and dispense. Transparent for quick identification and lovely display of its contents, the unique pitcher features an innovative vertical tube that prevents ice from diluting beverages. To use, simply fill the pitcher with liquid and the tube with cubed or crushed ice. Attach the tube to the lid, and insert the tube and lid into the pitcher to hold beverages at the optimal temperature for consumption--without the splashes, spills, and watered-down flavor caused by melting ice. Best of all, the pitcher and its corresponding plastic lid and stirring stick can be placed in the dishwasher (top rack recommended) for thorough cleaning between uses. Made in Italy, the chiller pitcher arrives packed in a gift-worthy box and measures approximately 6-1/2 by 6-1/2 by 8-1/2 inches.

Luminarc Quadro 1-1/2-Quart (57-Ounce) Pitcher Review

Luminarc Quadro 1-1/2-Quart (57-Ounce) Pitcher
Average Reviews:

I bought two of these after MUCH searching. These perform as well or better than I could have anticipated. VERY easy to clean and VERY easy to pour from.
The plastic lid doesn't completely seal, but this actually makes it easy to spin open and easy to pour from. The lid is tight enough to keep out any fridge smells and will never come off during pouring.
These pitchers are the perfect size for my decaf tea and with the small footprint they make in the fridge, you could have one with everybody's favorite drink stored right in the fridge door.
They are exceptionally lightweight for being made of glass. I have very small delicate hands and wrists, so a lightweight pitcher is a must. This fits the bill! Also, think of the health benefits of storing your beverages in glass rather than plastics that leech chemicals into your liquids.
I will buy more of these!

Frigoverre Glass Pitcher Review

Frigoverre Glass Pitcher
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've given the pitcher four stars because it meets my needs as far as capacity, durability and appearance. It would have gotten five stars if the instructions gave clear directions on how to use the lid and if the handle, as other reviewers have pointed out - wasn't so close to the pitcher, making it awkward to pour. Contrary to some reviewer's comments, I haven't had any problem with spillage when beverages are poured.
I purchased the pitcher even though there were some very critical reviewer comments about the lid. At the time, I discounted them, figuring the reviewer's weren't following instructions. After spending an hour or more fruitlessly trying to get the lid to work, I was angry and frustrated. The next day, I took the lid apart and studied how the lid/pitcher seal was supposed to be made, and that was when I discovered, more or less by accident, the secret to making the lid work. Since then the lid has worked just fine (by the way, the lid must be removed prior to pouring).
Here's the technique: With the center piece screwed into the outer piece and in the open position (that is, the center piece bar is resting against the "open" tab on the top of the outer piece), pull the rubber ring over the bottom edge ridge so it rides in the groove formed where the ridge meets the bottom of the outer piece. The next step is crucial (yet isn't described in the instructions - an unforgivable omission given the complaints about the lid failing to seal properly). Holding the outer piece of the lid by its serrated edge, place the lid on to the top of the pitcher so the rubber ring is in full contact with the top of the pitcher rim, then rotate it clockwise while gently but firmly pushing down on it until the bottom of the outer lid piece is in complete contact with the pitcher's rim. The rubber ring is now deep enough into the pitcher to form a tight seal with the side of the pitcher when the center is rotated clockwise a half turn to the closed position (to the "closed" tab), causing the rubber ring to expand outward and create a strong seal. You'll find that at room temperature, the rubber ring will encounter some resistance as it is pushed into position prior to closing; however, when cold (after sitting in the refrigerator) there is no resistance. You'll be amazed at how easy the lid works when the ring and glass are cold.
