Rubbermaid 7J67 Easy Find Lid Square 7-Cup Food Storage Container Review

Rubbermaid 7J67 Easy Find Lid Square 7-Cup Food Storage Container

My only disappointment is that they still break down on high microwave heat. I was hoping with new types of heat resistant plastics that this problem would no longer be an issue. I sent my husband off with a bowl of pasta in tomato sauce and I was upset to see that my new bowl was ruined by the heat and had reddish sauce embedded at the broken down plastic level. I did purchase several different sizes and have been very useful with food storage and keeps the food fresh for quite some time. Just need to make them more heat resistant and less absorbable of sauces and such. Then it would be a perfect product. They also stack very nicely and wash up well under normal use. Don't heat on high!

Rubbermaid's new Easy Find Lid collection of food-storage containers makes container and lid organization a breeze. Designed with space efficiency in mind, the lids and bases nest together so that they take up less room when stored in a cabinet or drawer, plus the lids snap to the bottom of the bases and to each other, which means no more searching around for the right-size lid. Even more, one lid can accommodate several different-size bases. The square shape allows for conveniently stacking the containers when placed on shelves or in the refrigerator, while super-clear bases provide better visibility of inside contents. The covered containers can be used in the refrigerator, freezer, or microwave, and clean up quickly by hand or in the dishwasher. Great for storing sugar, coffee, crackers, or leftovers, this 7-cup food-storage container measures approximately 7 by 7 by 4-2/3 inches.

Organic Cotton Reusable Mesh Produce Bag (3 Pack) Review

Organic Cotton Reusable Mesh Produce Bag (3 Pack)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
These bags are perfect for buying produce. They don't work as well to store produce in the fridge, the mesh allows too much air and veggies tend to wilt much faster. But I bought them as grocery bags, not as storage bags, so they're perfect for what I need them for! The tare weight is sewn into the bag, so the cashier can deduct it easily, but each bag only weighs 0.08 lbs so it only costs a few extra cents if you forget.

Rubbermaid Easy Find Lid 24-Piece Food Storage Container Set

I am very happy with the Easy Find Lid series. They are very good quality. But then, the many, many other reviewers who all also love this set will tell you that.
So here's some information that is harder to find: all the sets of these that I could find available, and the contents of each set, all in one place.
----------
50 piece set (25 containers, 25 lids):
6 x 0.5 cups (118 mL)
6 x 1.25 cups (296 mL)
3 x 2 cups (473 mL)
3 x 3 cups (710 mL)
3 x 5 cups (1.2 Liter)
2 x 7 cups (1.7 Liter)

3 x 3 cups (710 mL)
4 x 5 cups (1.2 Liter)

1 x 2 cups (473 mL)
2 x 3 cups (710 mL)
1 x 5 cups (1.2 Liter)

One more note - I found that buying two of the 24 piece sets was several dollars cheaper than buying either the 50 or 48 piece sets, and would provide a nicer distribution that would fit my needs better. Prices will change, of course, so this may not always be true, but it was for me.
Here's some comparison data for buying a 50 piece set, a 48 piece set, 2x24 piece set, and 3x24 piece set, all of which are in a similar price range:
1x50 piece set: 6x0.5, 6x1.25, 3x2, 3x3, 3x5, 2x7, 2x4.8divided
1x48 piece set: 6x0.5, 5x1.25, 2x2, 3x3, 4x5, 3x7, 1x14
2x24 piece set: 4x0.5, 4x1.25, 4x2, 4x3, 4x5, 4x7

Fizz Saver 2-Liter Soft Drink Dispenser Review

Fizz Saver 2-Liter Soft Drink Dispenser
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Ok, I was very skeptical of this, having been let down by similar products over the years-including some of those that pump air into the bottles (IMHO a non-effective and tedious method, particularly when you have to pump half a liter of air into the thing each time ya open it). But I've gotten so tired of having those 2 liters go flat halfway down the bottle, I figured I would try one more gizmo, even though I gave it a 20% chance of working. However, I have had it for a few weeks, and am now on my 6th 2 liter bottle, and I am STILL thrilled to see that the drinks are staying properly carbonated to the last drop. What were the odds? This thing works so incredibly well, I'm surprised you hear so little about it. And this particular one fits nicely in the fridge, unlike the other one that makes the 2 liter bottle stand so tall, it wont fit in many fridges compartments very easily.
One thing I need to mention, the first few times you use it, after having reloaded a new bottle, the soda might not come out at all, since the carbonation has just been released when you opened the bottle, and so it may seem like a problem to you. However, once its been sitting there a little while, the carbonation has some time to build up inside the bottle and then comes out at about 100 mph. If you pour it like they do beer at the tap, with the glass close to the pour spout, it wont be a problem, and the drink will still be nicely carbonated in the glass, even though it seems like it wouldn't be since it comes out under so much pressure, that you would think it would go flat.
All you have to do is learn to open the valve slower early on into a new bottle. As liquid is dispensed and theres less carbonation inside, it starts to pour almost perfectly for the next 1/2 to 3/4 of the 2L bottle. Then as it nears the last 1/4 of the bottle, the opposite is true; too little available CO2 to push it out, so all you have to do is squeeze the bottle a little, and it will come out, STILL almost perfectly carbonated.
I wish though, that they sold these in pairs on amazon as they do on a few shopping channels, since it would be nice to save on shipping, and since they work so well, having only one of these beauties is NOT enough, trust me.
PS. (2 weeks later) I'm editing this, because a few weeks into this love-fest with this thing, I tightened a bottle too hard, and it cracked the unit, rendering it useless. Future design needs to have a way of preventing that, since it was a little too easy to do. Otherwise, it worked great till the bitter end.
PPS.(a month later) OK...I really SHOULD remove 4 of the stars from my rating, if only for all the torment this contraption has caused me over the past month!!! After having broken 3 of these by now, and thrown $60 of plastic gizmology into the trash, I have found the reason this thing is the most expensive way to save a $1 liter of Coke ever to be designed by humanity. BYE THE WAY...I found out that the reason this was happening is that there are about 4 different types of plastic 2 liter bottles out there, which look identical, and are only different on the lenght of the cap at the top of the bottle. The cap and the threads where the cap screws onto are almost 3 mm longer from top to bottom than the other type which fits perfect (these are usually rounded on top. They are distributed by 7up, Pepsi, and some others). Everytime I tried to save $.20 by getting a SAM's club branded soda, I ended up throwing away $18 in the trash. I would be careful to only screw it in so far, but then it would leak, and it needed to go further, and i would screw it in further, and CRACK!!! I didn't understand why, since usually it was no problem. I am sure its not just the Sam's club bottles, but all the bottles of this other type of PET bottle generation. Apparently the bottles that are not rounded off at the corners of the caps, but instead have a distinct 90 degree drop off, are a tiny bit longer (about 3 mm- almost unoticeable) than the others, and WILL crack your gizmo every time. The instructions make NO mention or warning about any of this. This gizmo was designed ONLY for the newer kind of 2 litre bottles, the ones with the shorter, rounded off and scalloped plastic caps.
Keep in mind that the theory behind this system itself WORKS great, but this particular dispenser (the REFRIGERATOR FIZZ SAVER sold by Amazon's affiliate) is flawed by cheap design. In fact, if you received what you saw on the amazon ads, a HOCKEY PUCK looking dispenser, it might be OK and this problem would never have happened (what, that would be about 5 cents more per unit to manufacture or something right? lol). But thats the problem, its not the thicker hockey puck dispenser you receive. Instead, It's this thin little piece of plastic, about 1'4 inch thick on the bottom. Any over-tightening results in you throwing $18 -including shipping- into the trash. This is after of course, spending half an hour wiping out the fridge, from where the thing leaked the soda all over the place the night before (under pressure mind you). I was looking at a competing product, FIZZ IT UP, that looked like it was much thicker plastic, and sturdier. I would get that if possible, however it seems imposible to find.
(5 months later follow-up). Once I started to only buy the 2 litre bottles that fit perfectly, this thing has worked AMAZINGLY well for me. Best thing ever invented for keeping your soda perfectly carbonated from beginning to end!!!!

Base Brands 16-Ounce Reduce WaterWeek Bottle, Set of 5 Review

Base Brands 16-Ounce Reduce WaterWeek Bottle, Set of 5
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this product in lieu of an aluminum container (like Sigg) because of a few reasons:
1. I wanted to have smaller amounts of water available to me
2. I wanted there to always be a full bottle ready in the fridge at a moment's notice
3. The are smaller, thus fit in the fridge better
4. Different colors give me an idea of how much water I have drank each day
The bottles, about the width of a soda can and the height of a soda bottle, are made of a hard plastic (not squeezable). The colors are very true to the picture-- they are not obnoxious or dull, just pretty with nice designs. The mouth of the bottle is larger than the average bottle of water, not so large that the flow of water is too much, but not so small that you feel like you need to squeeze the bottle.
The white holder for the fridge is compact, taking up as little space as possible but holding the bottles upright neatly. It's pretty tough to knock it all down.
One thing I did not expect and am pleasantly surprised about is that the water stays cool longer in these bottles than expected. Regular water bottles let the water get warm very quickly. These seem to stay cool much longer and really don't have a ton of condensation like regular bottles (they have some, but it seems like less somehow). My water was still nice and cool after a 15 minute drive to the gym, an hour long run on the treadmill and 10 minutes in the sauna! I was very pleased.
The only downside, depending on who you are, is that 16oz goes quickly. For me, a novice water-drinker, 16oz if PERFECT. It is not so much that I can't finish it relatively quickly and not so little that I am wanting more. That is more of a personal thing.
If you are considering it, go ahead and try them! They really are well made and pretty.... while being extremely functional.

Bormioli Rocco Kufra Glass Jug with Ice Container and Lid Review

Bormioli Rocco Kufra Glass Jug with Ice Container and Lid
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Hi,
If you are looking for a medium sized pitcher with good looks and functionality, this is the pitcher for you. Continue reading below for my pros and cons regarding the Bormioli Chiller.
Pros:
*The chiller looks very nice. It's compact and easily fits in the second shelf in my fridge
*Hard glass; definitely made of quality glass--not the cheap ones that seem like they'll break with a slight tap of your nails.
*Ice Container is a very nice feature. Fill the plastic tube with as many ice cubes as will fit; your drinks will be cold w/out being watery
*Drinks pour our easily w/out spilling unto your floors or whereever else, just be careful not to pour too fast or naturally it'll spill
Cons:
*As advertised, the components are plastic, i.e the white lid cover, stirrer (I recall one reveiwer mentioning they never received it, well it was supplied with the pitcher)and plastic ice tube.
*unlike the good quality glass, i felt the plastic was cheap and flimsy; guess you can't have everything in one product
*Handle is short and I wish it was longer
Overall I gave this pitcher a 4 b/c of the cons and also b/c it appeared larger in the picture or maybe it was me. In any case, this is a great picher for a single person or very small family. I definitely recommend buying this and keeping your drinks cold this summer! Enjoy.

The unit's thick glass construction ensures durability and long-lasting beauty, while its ergonomic, integrated handle and built-in pour spout make it simple to carry and dispense. Transparent for quick identification and lovely display of its contents, the unique pitcher features an innovative vertical tube that prevents ice from diluting beverages. To use, simply fill the pitcher with liquid and the tube with cubed or crushed ice. Attach the tube to the lid, and insert the tube and lid into the pitcher to hold beverages at the optimal temperature for consumption--without the splashes, spills, and watered-down flavor caused by melting ice. Best of all, the pitcher and its corresponding plastic lid and stirring stick can be placed in the dishwasher (top rack recommended) for thorough cleaning between uses. Made in Italy, the chiller pitcher arrives packed in a gift-worthy box and measures approximately 6-1/2 by 6-1/2 by 8-1/2 inches.

Belkin Conserve Insight F7C005q Energy-Use Monitor Review

Belkin Conserve Insight F7C005q Energy-Use Monitor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Belkin Conserve Insight is a very nice piece of hardware and has a number of advantages over the Kill-A-Watt. Firstly, there are three outputs.
1) lbs/CO2 per year (or month)
2) $/year (or month)
3) Watts
Both the CO2 and $ setting can be adjusted to account for the cost and CO2 intensity for your local utility.
Averaging. One very nice feature is that after 45 minutes, the Conserve Insight goes in to averaging mode and displays the projected CO2 and $ per year. This is excellent for appliances that are turned on and off like a laptop or a refrigerator. The Watt display, however does not average. It shows the realtime updates.
Location, Location, Location: The small display for the Conserve Insight is located on the end of a 5 foot long cord. This is much better than the Kill-A-Watt that requires you to crawl on your hands and knees to get a reading. Also, the Conserve Insight is very nicely styled and looks great on a desktop. The Kill-A-Watt is much more utilitarian.
Simple: The Conserve Insight is very simple and easy to use. Personally, I do not have any problem with the Kill-A-Watts ease of use, but I have had trouble explaining it to other people.
Range: The Insight Conserve goes down to a much lower range than the Kill-A-Watt. Whereas the Kill-A-Watt bottoms out at 1 Watt, the Conserve Insight goes down to 0.5 Watts. This is a great help when trying to understand the power usage of wall hanging bricks (AC/DC converters). I am always frustrated with the Kill-A-Watt reading either 0,1, or 2. With the Conserve Insight, I can see the difference between 1.0 and 1.2. Nice.
Limits.
There are a couple of things I do not like.
Jumping Display: The watt reading updates a little to frequently. When reading the power to my laptop it jumps quickly from 30 watts to 40 watts and back again. This makes it impossible to get a sense of average power consumption.
KWH?: There is no KWH measurement. However, this can be back calculated from the $ reading and the $/KWH setting you applied to it.Overall:
Highly recommend this product.
