Polder THM-560N Fridge/Freezer Thermometer, Stainless Steel Review

Polder THM-560N Fridge/Freezer Thermometer, Stainless Steel
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Was my refrigerator cold enough? Was the freezer? After reading articles about bacterial growth in refrigerated products, and how bacteria continues to grow as products slowly freeze in the freezer, yuck, I knew it was time to get an accurate reading. I have been guilty of turning the fridge down [warmer] to save electricity, or to kill the noise, but probably was just encouraging mold, spoilage and potential problems. The Polder arrived today and in 5 minutes I knew exactly how cold the refrigerator was in all areas, and the freezer. Both were set too warm. There is a blue safety area indicator on the Polder face in the acceptable 40 degree-ish range for the refrigerator. I have readjusted the settings and feel much relieved. In a power outage this could be one of the most useful tools in the house. It's a very sturdy, well-made product, like something from when products were made well and to last. This looks like it will outlast me. At this price, I recommend everyone invest in one. Better safe than sorry.

MIU #90062 Commercial Freezer Thermometer Review

MIU #90062 Commercial Freezer Thermometer

I purchased two of these units and noticed they were reading different temps right out of the box. I placed both in my freezer for 4 hours and after that time they had diverged by 8 full degrees F. Is one wrong? Are both wrong? I really have no way of knowing. See the customer photo I uploaded for this product for visual proof.

Admetior Digital Fridge/Freezer Thermometer Review

Admetior Digital Fridge/Freezer Thermometer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This thermometer has large clear numbers and is easy to read at a glance. My refrigerator has glass shelves, so I'm not able to hang it anywhere, but the hook folds down behind it and becomes a little stand, so I'm able to place it where ever I want it. I was hoping to be able to also place it in the freezer compartment sometimes, but it gives an error code whenever the temperature gets below 32 degrees. It would have been helpful if the directions that came with it had explained why it randomly shows "LLL", but I had to figure that out the hard way. But all in all, I like it, but I don't love it.

Winco 2" Freeze and Refrigerator Thermometer, NSF Listed Review

Winco 2 Freeze and Refrigerator Thermometer, NSF Listed
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This review is for the Winco 2" Freeze and Refrigerator Thermometer purchased through Amazon.com. We purchased three of these to use in the refrigerators in our church as required by the county health department. They seem to be accurate and are fairly easy to read. Since our refrigerator shelves are glass, they tend to get pushed around by food items items. We will most likely use some mounting tape to stick them to the back or side wall instead. They are a good product at a very reasonable price.

Taylor Connoissuer Tube Fridge-Freezer Thermometer Review

Taylor Connoissuer Tube Fridge-Freezer Thermometer

I purchased the "Taylor Connoissuer Tube Fridge-Freezer Thermometer" for our refrigerator and freezer. The magnets work perfectly and it is also easy to read and very accurate. Improper food storage (even by a few degrees) can lead to a lot of stomach issues and that makes this a "must have" in my opinion.

Taylor Professional Freezer-Refrigerator Thermometer with 3-Inch Dial Review

Taylor Professional Freezer-Refrigerator Thermometer with 3-Inch Dial
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Let me preface this by saying that at $4.40 there isn't much risk in buying this thermometer. Given Amazon's great customer service I'm sure I can return it but it's not really worth sending it back. I've read the previous comments and 5-star ratings and I'm left wondering if anyone else checked the accuracy before commenting. I checked it out at with accurate digital and analog thermometers at room temperature of 68 degrees, at refrigerator temperature of 36 degrees, and at a freezer temperature of -2 degrees. In all cases I found the Taylor Professional Freezer-Refrigerator Thermometer to read 3 degrees lower than actual temperature. There does not seem to be any way to adjust the dial with the exception of taking it apart and moving the faceplate (not sure if that is possible without breaking it). I gave it only one star for just this reason; that you cannot calibrate the unit for error, not for the inaccuracy itself.
It does have a big dial and is easy to read but I think at the critical temperature of a refrigerator it is important to be accurate. I realize there may be many people who do not have the equipment to check out the accuracy as I do, but there is a significant difference in storing food at 37 degrees F rather than at 40.
So if you're agreeable to mentally normalizing the temp (as I will do) when you read it, I suppose you'd be satisfied with it given it's low cost. That last statement presupposes that the one you buy has the same inaccuracy as mine. Who knows, the one you get might be "right on" but how would you know that without calibrating it?

I had a problem with our freezer and wanted to get thermometers to confirm that all was working right.
These fit the bill and were price right.
They have color coded areas on the face that show the proper temps and make it very easy to visually confirm temps whenever you open the door.

Taylor Digital Stick On Refrigerator Thermometer Review

Taylor Digital Stick On Refrigerator Thermometer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Recently purchased a side-by-side refrigerator/freezer and was curious
as to the temperature in each compartment. Moistened the suction cup
per instructions and affixed it to the freezer door's interior, set at
the recommended mid-range temperature. Checked the temp the next morning and it registered 17 degrees fahrenheit. Had to take a plastic knife to
pry the suction cup off of interior freezer door. I next placed this
thermometer inside the refrigerator door, about chest level above the one-
gallon storage shelf for easy viewing. Again with refrigerator temp set at the recommended mid-range temperature, I returned to check on the temp the following morning and it registered from 38.7 to 41.5 degrees fahrenheit depending on late night door openings. Periodically repeated this phase of refrigerator testing for a month to confirm the absence of
sporadic readings. No problem with the suction cup dislodging from the
interior refrigerated surfaces. Great buy for the low cost ..... all is
needed is to replace the button cell lithium battery and you can regularly monitor the cooling capability of your refrigerator/freezer and additionally give you an early warning sign of when you need to purchase a newer, more reliable appliance.
