I have had a GE Profile bottom freezer refrigerator for just over a year. I was limited by the space available, but we were able to make adjustments. We purchased a model similar to the one shown, but without the ice maker as I was wary, given the reviews I've read about problems with those. If I had it to do over again, I would try to find an alternative to GE. Initially, things seemed to be working reasonably well. Then, within a few weeks, cracks appeared in the plastic surround of the bottom glass shelf that holds the crisper drawers. After playing telephone tag for another few weeks, we were sent a replacement part. Unfortunately, it was the wrong part. A further round of calls and missteps finally produced the right replacement. Shortly after that, one of the crisper drawers began freezing the produce. I made sure the vents were not obstructed and experimented with different settings of both the refrigerator and freezer. Nothing I tried solved the problem. I called the company where it was purchased and they gave me the name and number of the Authorized Service Dealer. A call to them proved futile. They wouldn't make a service call since they hadn't sold the item. After a long back and forth with the company and the dealer (a large national retailer), we were finally able to get someone to come take a look. And, that's what the service person did. He came. He looked. He shrugged, said I had done everything he would have suggested. He left. The problem persists. The crisper drawer is useless for storing produce, but is a handy place to temporarily hold meat before wrapping to go into the freezer. It's also not bad for quickly chilling white wine. Fortunately, I have an Amana refrigerator that I've had running for over 30 years that keeps my produce in perfect condition. It's in the basement, so we get added exercise running up and down stairs when preparing meals. I have heard that GE was no longer the reliable company it used to be, but this is pathetic. I will be extra vigilant in future to avoid their products. I may even stop watching NBC - not that I do that much now. BUYER BEWARE!!

I bought his 2 years and 4 days ago. All was well until 7 weeks ago. Since then I have had to have 4 repairmen out to fix 3 different problems, to the tune of almost $1000 in repairs. Needless to say, it is a HUGE hassle to have to "be home between 1-5pm" every few days. Repair men were at my house 3 times in just the past 7 days. Today it defrosted all over my new hardwood floor, pouring about a quart of water all over everything.
I am writing GE to ask for a replacement as a $1700 appliance should last more than 2 years. I have a 20 year old fridge in my garage that runs great!
I would look to another brand.
Oh, one more thing, every repairman has told me that they have nothing but trouble with GE! Hey, GE, get a clue!

I bought a stainless steel GE bottom freezer refrigerator five years ago when I renovated my kitchen. It looked so nice and shiny and it worked fine until last year. Then the top section up and died.
I got on the GE website and scheduled a service appointment. The repairman finally came at 5:30 p.m. after I was home waiting for him all day long, but he did come on the day he said he would.
He inspected the fridge, told me the thermostat regulator for the top section had gone kaput, and installed a new one. I asked him how long that part was guaranteed for and he said five years.
I almost hit the roof. My previous fridge had been a top-freezer GE which lasted 17 years and was still in good working order when I tossed it. For $1300, I told the repairman, I expect everything in that fridge to last 100 years minimum and not a day less.
Anyway, the fridge worked fine again until last week, when I noticed it wasn't cold enough. Back to the GE website to make another service appointment. This time they sent the same guy but at least he came early.
He opened the fridge, and voila! The fan had up and died.
He replaced the fan, put everything back together nicely, and handed me a bill for $246.15. Labor: $194.99. Tax: $17.49. Fan: $2.98. I shelled out over two hundred bucks to replace a piece of plastic that cost $2.98.
GE, you've been warned. If anything else in that fridge conks out before 2025, I'm tossing the whole thing out and buying a KitchenAid.

I upgraded from the standard freezer on top and no water dispenser or ice maker and this review is coming from that perspective.
We bought this fridge because of the dimensions that fit our space. We couldn't get the standard 35 3/4 in width fridge. We looked at LG and the thing I like about this fridge is the internal water dispenser. It means that you do not need to lose any interior space. I'm glad I didn't get the LG because the loss of door space would have been a problem. The ice maker is in the freezer (no crushed ice) and works fast. It makes 100 cubes a day.
The interior space seems to be the same actual space as the old fridge but there are many configuration options making better use of the space, possibly. Not sure if it really makes a difference.
The thing I like the most is the fact that I do not need to bend down to see what's in the fridge.
A few other things that I'd like to mention because I have seen them in other reviews:
Noise: More than a fridge without an ice maker not really noticeable.
Energy efficiency: Seems OK.
Stainless steel: Get the stainless steel spray cleaner (not the wipes). Does a great job keeping the prints off.
Ice maker: Cranks out the ice. Once I think the there-is-enough-ice sensor didn't detect that the ice was full. You can turn off the ice maker so no biggie.
Water dispenser: It has an easy to change filter accessible inside the fridge. Water tastes excellent. The first gallon or so had a plastic taste (I also used a plastic water line) but it went away. I hear this is common.
Freezer drawers: There are three. It seems ok. Very different from the old top freezer. I like it but it makes you pack more efficiently so you can slide the drawers. This tends to force you to pay attention to what you have in the freezer rather than just tightly packing it in like in the old days.
Overall I am very happy with the fridge and would recommend it to anyone. I realized that after I bought the fridge that there was a model with an external water dispenser that doesn't take any space away from the interior (ice maker is still in the freezer). Had this been available when I bought it, I may have opted for it. Still I have no regrets.
