(More customer reviews)These bags are great for freezing too. I have seasoned pork chops and chicken and frozen them. They maintain their seal and the meat is fully seasoned once it thaws out and is ready to cook.
They did not lose their seal, nor did the meat get freezer burn. You may want to use an inexpensive Ziploc bag to store the food in frist and leave a bit of an opening and then insert that bag inside the Food Saver bag. Express the air out and you are done. This way the bag is reusable and not contaminated.
I have done this both ways with excellent results.
Note: Don't use them to store shredded cheese because it will clump like crazy (you can still eat it but it defeats the purpose of it being shredded) (-:
