They are probably fine for light items e,g, cooking mitts, car keys but they slide round easily for anything that has much weight. I ordered two and one had scratches on it. Costs too much to return, so I kept them. Not a good choice for me.

(More customer reviews)I bought these hooks to hold up our wet dishcloths in the sink. The small magnets they come with can barely support the weight of the hook, much less anything else. Even though they're inexpensive, they're not worth the money. I'm going to have to buy magnets to glue to the back to see if I can get them to work.

Superstrong Magnet Hook - White by Three by Three Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this magnet to hold a Creative Memories calendar that I had made. Those calendars are quite large and heavy and I needed something super strong. This magnet definately does the job. The magnet is white and our refrigerator is white so it blends in nicely. I highly recommend this product. Now I just wish I would have bought 2 instead of one. They make nice gifts to give with your calendar.

(More customer reviews)Pros: I use it in the kitchen to hang cuptowels, keys, extra plastic bags. I like the swing hook to put it flat against the metal surface and not stick out. Very stong magnet.
Cons: Will not hold a heavy coat as advertised, but will hold a heavy towel or heavy sweat pants - if this helps anyone decide how much weight it will hold.

(More customer reviews)This set of magnetic hooks will not work on textured metal surfaces. I bought it to use on my Fridge (with a textured surface) and with any weight at all it just slides to the floor. I bought a set of individual "rare earth" magnet hooks that are 1/4 the size of the magnets on this thing and each of them will hold four-times the weight (for less than 1/3 the money for 8 hooks). If you are looking to mount this on a smooth surface it MIGHT work, but I wouldn't take the chance if I were you.

Brushed Nickel 5 MAGNETIC CLIP hooks hanger bathroom Review

(More customer reviews)These rare earth type magnets are pretty strong for their size ... strong enough that they can be loaded up with several key rings without falling off or sliding down, but not so strong that they're difficult to remove from the fridge.
Minor nit: I wish the hooks themselves were slightly narrower, because they're a little wide for some rings, and I also wish they were a tad longer, so they could hold more and thereby take fuller advantage of the magnet's strength. With a slightly narrower and longer hook, and a magnet that was slightly wider, they'd be almost PERFECT.
In any case, despite these minor nits, they're still the best I've found so far (as of this writing anyway). I've since thrown away all my other hook magnets, and replaced them with these, exclusively.
Recommended.
