Feit Electric BP40T61/2 40-Watt T6-1/2 Tubular Bulb, Clear Review

The bulb fit like the original, and has a superior brass threaded base. It's also just a little bit brighter than the other original bulb still under my microwave; that may well be due to the multi-year age difference, though. :)

Countertop Portable Ice Maker - EdgeStar Review

Countertop Portable Ice Maker - EdgeStar
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This little jewel has been a blessing to a small family that enjoys ice cubes in all of our drinks, especially water. The unforseen disadvantage is that you must manually fill the unit with water every couple of days. The advantage, however, is that if you use filtered or bottle water the ice cubes are tasteless. In fact, as the ice cubes melt in water, they remain pure and tasteless because they do not share the air of refrigerator the way an automatic ice maker that is built in does. So the ice melts, but you can just add more cubes without tasting all the flavors within your refrigerator.
Sits on the counter top and purrs away making plenty of ice for a family of four.
Terrific product.

Waring Pro IC70 Professional Stainless-Steel Large-Capacity Ice Crusher Review

Waring Pro IC70 Professional Stainless-Steel Large-Capacity Ice Crusher
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Waring IC70 is a MACHINE! This baby can crush my ice cubes any day. I've found the resulting ice chunks to be perfect for crunching and munching on(I have a compusive ice chewing habit). It is very easy to use, just plug it in, turn on the switch and dump in the ice cubes. It was crushing away on my countertop mere moments after our hottie UPS guy rang the doorbell. Essentially, feed ice cubes into the chute on top and a nice, big plastic bin below receives the lovely crushed output. The stainless steel housing is attractive and understated, but this guy is a little on the large size. Still, I'm willing to give up the counterspace in order to appease my crushed ice needs. I crush roughly 14 ice cube trays worth of ice a day and there is never a hitch. I have had ice cubes get wedged in the chute when I dump a whole tray of ice in at once but this is easily fixed by rocking it gently back and forth.
I found this product far superior to the Deni which makes sno-cone style ice and seemed quite rickety compared to the Waring. Also, much less work than the hand-cranked Metrokane Ice Crusher. This Waring IC70 makes great crushed ice for bar drinks: perfect for my amaretto sours and mojitos- even margaritas on the rocks, also great for soft drinks. This does not produce the consistency of ice needed for sno-cones or blended-style drinks.

Whirlpool Icemaker Motor Assembly W10190935 Review

this part is identical to to one I pulled out of our whirlpool. It's been over a month since I installed this part and not one problem. No cheap parts in this replacement. The little plastic gear is designed to be the weak link in this set-up (that's what went out on mine)so be prepared to see identical plastic parts in this replacement. Yes i would buy form this place again

I should have known better! My old Kenmore died and I bought this noxious import because it a) fit in a 32" nook; b) I didn't want an ice maker; and c) it looked great. ("Sleek European styling") I didn't know that it has a DC compressor and emits a constant whine (or bass hum, buzz or hum, depending on the cycle). At its worst it is like having a truck idling in your kitchen. But you always hear it. The noise kicks in even if you haven't opened the door in an hour, and cycles last from 30 minutes to what seems like hours. The sales rep I finally reached via the escalation dept. confirmed that it's not a question of decibels, but of frequency. As for noise complaints I found after it was too late, he reluctantly admitted that, yes, there are some people who find the noise really disturbing. Or as the repairman told me, "I know it's loud, but that's normal for this thing. That's just the way they make them these days," he said, and showed me how the high speed compressor was attached to the back of the machine with a few screws and with absolutely nothing to soften the sharp whine it makes most of the time. My Kenmore rumbled a bit but it never, ever made that awful shrill piercing relentless whine. I can hear it in my office or bathroom adjacent to the kitchen but not upstairs or in the shower. I can't even imagine what this thing would be like in an apartment!
These new compressors are a known issue, which is something I wish I'd found out before I bought this thing from Albert Lee appliances in Seattle. You'll find complaints about GE, Frigidaire, Kenmore and others. But at 17.3 cf, most of them are half the price of this sleek European mediocrity.
Not everyone is sensitive to noise. If you're oblivious to tv test patterns, dentists drills, high tension wires or a speaker when you leave the stereo on, you might think it was pricey but okay. At least it's prettier than the white molded plastic you usually see.
But if you think that hearing your fridge when you're in another room at twice the price, either buy a mid-priced fridge with the same or more features, or get a Sub Zero for $3,000, and steer clear of Fisher & Paykel products. This is by far the worst appliance I have ever owned.

I purchased these bulbs as a replacement for a small Lava Lamp which was given to me by a Google Executive after I hacked Gmail back in January 2005.
The light bulbs work perfectly for giving light, but do not get hot enough to make the lamp function properly. I guess they are just more efficient than the one they replaced.
Should be fine for lighting applications, not so fine for Lava Lamps.
