Took 45 minutes to get a room temperature bottle of white wine somewhat cool. I was looking for somethibng to make it drinkable in 5-10 minutes. 20 minutes in the freezer does much better. This doesn't even come close. Save your money.

Waring Pro PC50 Cordless Wine Chiller, Brushed Chrome Review

Waring Pro PC50 Cordless Wine Chiller, Brushed Chrome
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I just received this as a gift a few days ago as a Christmas gift from my brother. I'm left wanting...I don't believe this product is worth it's price. The idea is great but, the basket insert sizes are not accurate. The large basket didn't fit my bottle of wine, so it seems even though you are given a small and large basket- you should only use a small bottle of wine. Standard ice from my freezer didn't fit into the chiller once I put the wine bottle in- you have to use small store bought ice or chipped broken pieces of ice, the sound/craftsmanship/overall quality of the product doesn't seem worth $50. Once the timer was done (and I doubled the suggested time) the wine I poured into my glass was only slightly above room temperature- even though the bottle felt pretty darn cold once I pulled it from the chiller. Save your money. Either spend more for a better wine chiller, or get something else altogether.

Exceptionally easy to operate, this tabletop wine holder chills wine in minutes, automatically rotating the bottle to cool it faster. Just turn on the timer and its cool blue backlit display counts down the number of minutes until the red, white, or champagne wine reaches an ideal serving temperature. Use the appliance with a cord or go cordless with the included rechargeable battery pack for convenient wine chilling on the boat or at a picnic. Accommodating bottles up to 3-1/2 inches in diameter, the wine chiller measures 8-1/4 by 8-1/4 by 11-3/4 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

Recently purchased the Cooper Cooler and am very disappointed in the product. Although it looked attractive and promising coming out of the packaging--it does not perform it's intended purpose, is very noisy, messy, and inefficient.
I can't wait to return it to the company. It definitely is not worth the $94.00 price tag.

The Sharper Image KP-W400 Single Wine Chiller, Black Review

The Sharper Image KP-W400 Single Wine Chiller, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I had wanted a wine chiller for a long time, and a programmable one sounded like a great idea. So I requested this item for Christmas.
I only recently had an occasion to use it (not being a frequent wine consumer). As another reviewer noted, it took almost a hour to chill a bottle from "room temperature" of 77 degrees down to 55 degrees on the first bottle I tried. When "ready," only the bottom third of the bottle felt the least bit cool. The top still felt warm to the touch. The bottle is held in the chiller on a slant, so the back was cool a little farther up the bottle; the front was not cool at all. The top cover does not seem to serve any purpose (like keeping in the cool air) at all. When I poured the wine, I discovered what I feared--it was still quite warm.
I tried a few days later with a different wine and it took about an hour and a half to chill to 43 degrees. This time, I turned the bottle every fifteen minutes, but the results were no better.
The library, although it lists reds and whites from several countries, and several different kinds of reds or whites under each country, seems only have about three or four preset temperatures, the best I can tell. One might as well just use 55 degrees for red and 43 for white and forget paying extra for a chiller with an extensive "library" of wine types to program in. Or, as has been observed, pop the bottle in the fridge for 30 minutes or the freezer for 15 and save the entire cost of this device.
Finally, although champagne is listed as one of the selections, there is no bottle of champagne that will fit in the receptacle. The appearance of the appliance is deceiving, as it does not have as much room inside as it appears from the outside.
Had I known all this, I would never have requested this item. Unfortunately, it's too late to return it.

Haier HVUE06ABB 6-Bottle Wine Fridge, Black Review

Haier HVUE06ABB 6-Bottle Wine Fridge, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this for my husband for Christmas (2007). It's been plugged in and working since late November (more below) with no problems. This is the first wine fridge that we've ever owned so, admittedly, I have nothing to compare it to. I read reviews about other smaller fridges and decided to go with this one because of its size and controls. We keep it on the floor underneath our bar/counter area. It's nice to have to keep those bottles of white wine cold and ready to go at a good temperature instead of being too cold and taking up room in your real fridge.
Only (very minor) complaint deals with the seller- as I said, I got this for my husband for Christmas. They sent it in its original box without any other box or coverings on the outside. It arrived and was on our front porch on a day when my husband was the first to come home, so...he got his Christmas present a little early. ;)
ETA: Have had this little fridge for 2 years now and it's still going strong. One feature I like: the inside light that turns on and off. It's nice to see what's in there without opening the door. In terms of storing bottles, you can't store fat bottles (like champagne) on the top shelf. But that's not too big of a deal. We just put them on the lower shelves.
E(again)TA: It's been three years now. Still no problems with it!

Curtis FRW656 46-Bottle Wine Cooler Review

Curtis FRW656 46-Bottle Wine Cooler
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The good news is it's quiet. The bad news is it is a bad deal for only holding a bit over 20 bottles. Even their picture shows it with only about 20 bottles..Which of course I didn't notice until I wrestled with the wine bottles for about half an hour and decided to look online. Note their user manuual shows it holding 46. Unless they are talking about the single serving bottles the airlines serve, it's just not true. And the frustrating part is, it's just not worth it to return it. So now I have a really big, awkward fridge that only holds about 20 bottles. Oh, and last the temperature dial only does 'min-max' temp instead of real degrees.

Waring Pro PC100 Wine Chiller Review

Waring Pro PC100 Wine Chiller
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The problem isn't with the unit taking a long time to chill a bottle of wine, the problem is that it doesn't chill a bottle of wine.
I put a bottle of room temperature Chablis in, and selected Chablis from the list of white wines. The unit said it would chill it to 46 degrees, and indicated that the starting temp was 77. That was my first concern, because the bottle was room temperature, and room temp was 70. The unit took more than 30 minutes to get the bottle to the desired temp (according to the units thermostats), but when I opened the bottle, the wine was probably a bit warmer than a pinot should be served at. I turned the unit off, placed the bottle back in (using the accompanying sleeve both time, btw), and this time the starting temp read 61 degrees. In other words, it disagreed with itself...
Soo...I chilled it again, for another 20 minutes, and upon reaching 46 (again) the bottle was no cooler than it was before.
I don't understand how these are selling. They are probably good for bringing room temp reds down to the appropriate serving level, but this simply does not chill white, rose, or sparkling wines to the desired temperature. So it's great, I suppose, for someone who doesn't have a wine refrigerator, or a cellar, but who wants to drink red wines at the appropriate temperature. It's terrible for anything other than that.
This is as disappointed as I've ever been with a product before.

Oster FPSTBW8451 Quick Chilling Wine Chiller, Merlot with Brushed Chrome Accents Review

Oster FPSTBW8451 Quick Chilling Wine Chiller, Merlot with Brushed Chrome Accents
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was really excited to get this Oster Wine Chiller! Imagine just simply placing your wine or champagne bottle into this chiller and pulling it out at the perfect serving temperature just minutes later?
NOT.
This device requires a "couple of handfuls of ice" and then you also pour water into it from a pitcher (not supplied, of course).
It takes 20 minutes for an adequately cold pinot grigio or other whites best served very chilled.
Additionally, the instructions really reccomend that you repeat the process with new ice and water for each additional bottle.
In my freezer, I can chill several bottles in 20-30 minutes! Oh well.
I gave two stars because the thing would look nice as a chiller/server on the table (minus the power cord of course).
Bottom line? Definitely NOT worth the money.

My winery bought two of these chillers and they were exactly what we needed. The center compartment filled with ice keeps the wine cool without damaging the labels. At outdoor functions, we fill one with ice to keep the white wines cool and partially fill the other to keep the red wines from getting too warm in the summer heat. They are well made and look very attractive for professional or party use.

Vacu Vin Prestige Stainless-Steel Tabletop Wine Cooler Review

Vacu Vin Prestige Stainless-Steel Tabletop Wine Cooler
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We live in a warm climate, and this cooler is perfect for keeping pre-chilled whites nice and cool all through dinner when we dine outside. Since our "room temperature" is about 78, it is also perfect for bringing reds down to the 72 they are supposed to be before drinking. Another reviewer complained it didn't work on a second bottle of wine, but since this product works by dropping a frozen vacu-vin chill sleeve into the cooler then screwing the bottom back on, it is also easy to buy more vacu-vin chill sleeves for 9.99 to swap out for the second bottle of wine. No, it won't bring a warm bottle of white to a chill, but for some purposes, this cooler is perfect. (A vacu-vin chill sleeve works just as well, but doesn't look as nice on the dinner table, and it gets a lot of condensation drips, too.)

Cooper Cooler Rapid Beverage Chiller, Brushed-Silver Review

Cooper Cooler Rapid Beverage Chiller, Brushed-Silver
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Designed by Cooper Union engineering students who proved it was the most efficient way to chill beverages, the Cooper Cooler never fails to fascinate those guests who turn up at your barbecue with warm beer, wine, or soda. Happily, it also never fails to chill your potables to the core. Be warned, however, that you will consume a lot of ice in the process. (Since this device does not actually perform any refrigeration, you provide a mixture of water and ice which it cascades over the spinning container. The ice melts completely after only a few chilled cans, or one bottle of wine.)
Another caveat, which may not have mattered to those in the engineering lab, is that this thing is hell on paper labels, what with the constant water, and the traction from the rubber wheels. You may then choose not to spin the bottle, but it will take approximately twice as long to chill your beverage.
Such is life.

Sunpentown ThermoElectric Wine Coolers Review

Sunpentown ThermoElectric Wine Coolers
Average Reviews:

This is a piece of junk. It can barely keep wine cool in the winter with the heat off. The fan runs all the time no matter what. Furthermore, when the room temperature is a tad bit above 70 degrees, the light starts flashing along with a constant beeping. The only way to stop this, is to unplug it.
The manufacturer offers no suggestion other than saying it's probably the pc. In my mind "pc" is personal computer, not microprocessor which is probably what is controlling the light flashing and beeping. The manufacturer offers no method of getting a unit which is properly working, even though they shipped the original flashing and beeping unit. They consider it yours because you, well, opened their box. This is the kind of treatment that gives a bad name to internet shopping.

A nice alternative to expensive, full-size wine cellars, this elegant countertop unit keeps up to six standard-size bottles of wine properly chilled and ready to serve. Wish we had read the reviews FIRST. As others have written, in less than one year, it quit cooling properly - sometimes not cooling at all. We will be shopping for a more reliable brand!
