GE Profile PXCF22RBS Hot and Cold Water Dispenser Cooler Review

GE Profile PXCF22RBS Hot and Cold Water Dispenser Cooler
Average Reviews:

We bought this unit for about $100 at Odd Lots when we moved to an area with bad well water. We've used it for all of our drinking water (6 people) for about 18 month and it's been great. Our family uses about 15-20 gallons per week. We've never had a problem with it. It runs perfectly quiet for us. We love the hot and cold water on demand. We don't use the small cooler in the base, but it stays cold. I highly recommend this item.

WD31EC Tabletop Thermo Electric Water Cooler Review

WD31EC Tabletop Thermo Electric Water Cooler
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I followed the preparation instructions to the letter and two days later I was getting complaints from co-workers that the flow was too slow and that, most importantly, it was leaking at a mild but consistent rate...and not from the drains at the bottom of the unit but from the seams along the sides of the bottom, especially if it were tilted (we don't normally tilt our water dispenser but I did tilt it and it definitely increased in its pour rate). The unit would just sit there and leak at a slow but, again, consistent and irritating rate. I wish that I had just not bought it but I am glad that we have the old tall tower that this unit was to replace because of its nice size.
Think again before you buy this.

ZeroWater ZD-001 Filtration Pitcher with Electronic Tester, Filter Included Review

ZeroWater ZD-001 Filtration Pitcher with Electronic Tester, Filter Included
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Most of us have had water filtration systems; either the under sink, mounts to faucet, or most commmonly, the filter-in-pitcher system. I saw this on a late night infomercial and was hooked. I will keep this review short and sweet:

Pluses: Nice attractive color, Spigot and valve ON the pitcher so no need to remove the pitcher from the fridge everytime you want some water, Zero-water meter is included (and can be stored IN the pitcher)
Minuses: Capacity could be greater. Filter is so massive that you go through the filtered water QUICKLY, especially if you have a larger family;
AND...the #1 drawback: This pitcher filters VERY SLOWLY. I am used to other Brita-type units and this is the slowest I've ever seen. Often when the pitcher is over half-full, and I fill the top reservoir, it doesn't drain completely after 3-4 HOURS. I have to keep a 1/2 gallon bottle in the refrigerator filled with cold filtered water since this filters so slowly.
So, great concept, water is fantastic, but pitcher filters way too slowly if you have a family larger than 2-3.

With the ZeroWater Pitcher you can get cleaner, fresher water without tapping into your plumbing line, using bulky water coolers, and wasting your money on expensive bottled water. Thanks to an innovative five-stage filtration process, the ZeroWater Pitcher offers more complete water filtration than ordinary carbon filters. And for convenience, this pitcher neatly stores right in your refrigerator door.
More Effective, Affordable, and Environmentally Friendly Than Other FiltersEven if you live in a municipality that cleans or treats water, water can pick up chemicals on its way from the treatment plant to your faucet, giving your tap water a metallic or chlorinated taste. Water that's purified with a ZeroWater Pitcher, however, tastes the way water should: crisp, clean, and fresh.
Tested and certified by the Water Quality Association and NSF International for removal of several minerals, ZeroWater is the only filtration system that fits the FDA definition of purified bottled water. And at a fraction of the cost of ordinary carbon filters.
The ZeroWater pitcher not only improves the taste of your tap water, it also helps to improve the environment. When you use the ZeroWater Pitcher, you'll reduce your use of plastic water bottles that clog up landfills and harm ecosystems. You'll also contribute to water conservation, because unlike reverse-osmosis systems, ZeroWater is gravity operated and doesn't waste electricity or water.
Five-Stage Filtration System for Water That Scores a Perfect "000"At the heart of every drop of water that's purified by a ZeroWater Pitcher is an independent, laboratory-calibrated water tester called a TDS meter. TDS stands for "Total Dissolved Solids" and represents the amount of dissolved substances that can negatively affect the way water tastes.
Unlike conventional gravity-fed or carbon water filters that remove only certain substances from your water, ZeroWater's patented Ion Exchange System with Five-Stage Technology provides the only filtered water to measure an absolute "000" on the TDS scale, which means that 100% of dissolved solids have been completely removed.
To help put this in perspective, meter readings for tap water average between 075 and 300. Conventionally filtered water measures between 030 and 500, and bottled water measures between 000 and 350. Unlike the alternatives, with ZeroWater you can be sure you'll get 100% great-tasting water.
Battery-Powered Meter Makes it Easy to Test Your WaterThe beauty of the ZeroWater Pitcher is that you don't have to accept purity claims at face value. Test your water yourself with the included meter and watch as the zeros come together to ensure that you're getting the best-tasting water possible.Powered by two easy-to-replace 1.5-volt button cell batteries (included), this meter also lets you know the status of your filter. For instance, if your meter reads "006," it's time to replace the filter.
Sleek, Contemporary Design for Ease of UseThis single-chamber pitcher features a sleek, patent-pending design that allows for easy storage in your refrigerator door. For added convenience, a handy dispenser at the bottom of the pitcher's handle allows you to access water without removing the pitcher from the fridge.
What's in the BoxPitcher, one filter, and one TDS meter.

WDP75 Water Dispenser Review

WDP75 Water Dispenser
Average Reviews:

While it took a while to get here, my husband agrees with me that the Avanti Hot and Cold Water Dispenser was well worth the wait.
After our old dispenser gave up the ghost after twenty plus years, we looked at each other and said, 'what do we do now?' We tried shopping for another one locally but nobody had what we were looking for and we were, quite frankly, spoiled.
What do we like about the Avanti?
As the poet put it, let me count the ways.
First of all, because of its Energy Saver feature, the Avanti consumes less electricity than our old dispenser which ran constantly. It was also noisy. The Avanti, in contrast, is very quiet.
The Avanti features a neat little safety lock on the hot water faucet, which the old dispenser did not The storage space in the bottom, while it doesn't keep anything cold, is quite handy.
The Avanti's white plastic square design looks clean and nice. Our old brown metal dispenser did not. Also, unlike some of the round dispensers we looked at, the Avanti is not 'tippy'. Since it sits next to the kitchen doorway and a heavy traffic area, this was a real concern.
We also looked at dispensers that pumped from the bottom as well as the reviews and decided they were not for us.
The only CON was a chemical, almost musty, taste in the water for a few weeks after we got the Avanti, but that is now gone.
All in all, we are extremely pleased with the Avanti. It's much, much better than our old dispenser and we definitely give it 5 stars.

Haier WDNSC145 Convertible Freestanding Full-Size/Tabletop Water Dispenser Review

Haier WDNSC145 Convertible Freestanding Full-Size/Tabletop Water Dispenser
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is my first Haier product. I've had this for a couple weeks and it has been working great. When you first turn the cold water switch on, it takes about 10-15 mins to get cold, but if you leave it on it's cold all the time. Same with the hot water, it takes about 5 minutes or so to heat up.
One problem i've noticed (minus the one star) is that when you have both hot and cold water switches on, both the hot water and cold water compete for ready access. This is not a big deal, so I usually just leave one switch on a time (usually cold since it gets the majority usage).
As far as heating and cooling quality, when it's hot, it's SUPER hot. When it gets cold, it's cold enough to condensate your glass, but not ice cold - still refreshing!
UPDATE: Here's something else I wanted to add. Unlike other water coolers, this one does not run constantly cold or hot. If you have the cold switch on, it will keep recooling the water in cycles (you'll see the cold water light go on every 20-30 mins or after use). Same with hot water. If you have the switch on, it will reheat the water in cycles (every 20-30 mins or after use). Another minor annoyance (-.5 stars), but again, it's tolerable.
Updated rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Keep clean, refreshing drinking water readily available throughout the day with this two-piece freestanding water dispenser, which converts from a full-size to a tabletop unit by simply removing the base. The unit provides red and blue spout handles that make it easy to quickly differentiate between hot and cold water temperatures, and a child-safety feature on the hot-water faucet keeps little hands safe from burns (a tab must be pushed while simultaneously pushing the handle down to dispense hot water). The water dispenser's hot-water option allows for everything from tea, hot cocoa, instant soup, and noodles--great for a work break or quick lunch. Enjoy cool drinking water on its own, or add it to flavored drink mixes for instant lemonade or other favorites on a warm summer day. Other details include a compressor cooling system, an LED power-indicator light for the hot and cold water, a low-water safety device, a bottom storage compartment with a removable shelf, side handles, a dust cover, and a removable drip tray for quick cleanup. Designed for use with a 2-, 3-, or 5-gallon water bottle, the UL-approved water dispenser measures 15-5/8 by 13-1/4 by 36-3/4 inches.

Sorry but I feel like I'm piling on, this product worked for about three and 1/2 months and the cooler no longer works. The 1-866 number is no help and the product is not available on line at the Black & Decker website. (Like they know somethings up). But you can get it on Bizrate, amazon or ebay. Its made in North Carolina, in the USA, which is really disappointing as the crap from China is out lasting this.

WD361 Water Dispenser Review

WD361 Water Dispenser
Average Reviews:

I purchased this water dispenser for my office after the old one quit working. Having read quite a few reviews, I felt comfortable that I was getting a good product.
Once set up and filled with water, we discovered that the water it dispensed had a horrible chemical taste and smell. I immediately called Avanti, who told me they do not warranty the taste of the water dispensed, only the unit itself, and was given a lengthy process to try to flush the unit out and get rid of the bad taste. It involved dumping in bleach and much rinsing - and took quite a while. At the end, the water still tasted just as bad. Since Avanti customer service had these rinsing directions at hand to give when I called, I must assume they are aware of the problem with the dispensers and probably field these type of complaints frequently.
Since we were unable to return the unit, I continued flushing water through it hoping to lessen the bad taste. Finally I poured in white vinegar and some water and let it sit all day, and then drained it out and rinsed several times. Success - water finally tastes good to drink. The unit seems to be working properly now, but I am disappointed that a product purchased brand new should have required that much work in order to use it for its intended purpose.

Frigidaire WF2CB-2 PureSource2 Ice And Water Filtration System, 2 Pack Review

Frigidaire WF2CB-2 PureSource2 Ice And Water Filtration System, 2 Pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have had my Frigidare refrigerator for about 5 years now. The filters used to have a thick housing over the two smaller cylinders and it worked wonderfully. I never experienced any problems with those filters. About 2 years ago they changed the design taking away the outer housing leaving only the two smaller cylinders. Since then I have been through 8 filters in two years. When you cover the outlet hole and blow into the inlet hole, you can see the water spirt out of the side of the cartridge. It doesn't always occur at the top seal; however, many times the leak is in the plastic but you can see where the seam glue has run down to the spot where it's leaking. It appears that the glue they are using is dissolving the weak plastic and causing it to leak. I'm not sure what you can do about it but I just save my receipts and take them back about every 2-4 months when they fail. It's a pain but the manufacturer won't do anything about it. I just won't buy another Frigidare in the future!

Culligan IC-100 Level 1 Icemaker and Refrigerator Dispenser Drinking Water Filter Review

Culligan IC-100 Level 1 Icemaker and Refrigerator Dispenser Drinking Water Filter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been using this filter model for two years. I'm on my second unit. It works about the same as other inline filters I've used with regard to taste of the water. It seems not to last as long, but maybe my waster quality has changed, but it lasts long enough considering the price. I do like the quick connect fitting system. My filter is located in an awkward location, and not having to snug up compression fitting anymore to copper tubing is a big help.
I've read other reviews comment on black particles. You have to flush out the filter before you hook up the outlet end to your refrigerator. Just like any other filter. Maybe a gallon at most. I just do it until I don't see black particles coming out. The instructions say to do this as well, but I think it says to use more water. That's just CYA though.

GE MSWF Refrigerator Water Filter, 1 Pack Review

GE MSWF Refrigerator Water Filter, 1 Pack
Average Reviews:

Water tastes salty post installation. Water did not taste like that with previous factory installed filter. My tap water does not taste salty unfiltered. Probably would not buy again. Would purchase filter next time from an authorized GE dealer.
**UPDATE - Seller contacted me after this review and offered to send me a replacement filter, free of charge and free shipping. It arrived VERY quickly (within 3 days of the email). New filter works great, so the 1st filter problem must have just been a fluke. I would order from this seller again. Good product and great customer service.
